One of Milo Baughman’s first designs proposed to Thayer Coggin during their initial meeting in 1953. This chaise so impressed Thayer Coggin that it helped forge their relationship and led to an enduring partnership. The angular chaise embodies the clean-lined comfort of Baughman’s iconic designs. With its dramatic, tubular steel legs that support a svelte, undulating upholstery frame, the Fred chaise would lay the foundations for the multitude of glamorous pieces the two would collaborate on during the next 50 years.
