Custom Fireplace Nook
We helped this client remodel the fireplace area in their home.
They wanted something that was functional and would allow for storage without removing the fireplace.
With their help, we were able to come up with a design solution to add more storage for books and create
an elegant, and relaxing reading area for them to enjoy for many years to come.
This is what the fireplace area looked like before we started the project. There was very little storage for their books and the fireplace was not the focal point.
We continued building the bookshelves that clients needed and added a white mantel to the top of the fireplace.
Here you can see the beautiful wood top that was built to cover the fireplace brick base.
After talking with the client and understanding their needs we started to add the extra space needed. We added a base board around the base of the fireplace.
Giving the fireplace a much needed style change and making it more of a focal point of the room we started adding trim to match the rest of the shelving.
The final reveal! We turned the fireplace into a peaceful, relaxing area. Making it the focal point of the room and adding ample amounts of storage for books and other items.
